AeroClip — Balmoral Marker Variant
Live-line installer for Balmoral Engineering bird diverters and markers
Engineered for the job.
The Balmoral variant of AeroClip installs Balmoral Engineering markers — Bird FLappa, Line Zebra, and Flag Marka — onto energised transmission lines without an outage.
The Balmoral Marker variant of AeroClip has been developed in partnership with Balmoral Engineering — installing their bird diverters and conductor markers directly onto energised transmission lines. No climbers, no helicopters, no planned outages.
AeroClip is a single, continually advancing system. The Balmoral Marker variant is one of two installer configurations in field use, sharing the airframe, navigation stack, and autonomy pipeline of the Summit Installer.
Key features
- Single, unitary airframe + installer — drone and payload built as one system, not bolted together
- Operates on live lines up to 66 kV — no outage required
- RTK-corrected positioning + RatssTech proprietary navigation for repeatable installs
- Semi-autonomous install pipeline — map flight, line detection, alignment, autonomous approach, dock, install, exit, RTB
- Pilot in the loop at all times for safety oversight
- Installs Balmoral Engineering Bird FLappa, Line Zebra, and Flag Marka markers
- Iteratively refined across seven design generations — the system shown is the current field-use variant
Where it gets used.
- Bird strike mitigation on transmission corridors
- Conductor visibility marking near aerodromes and flight paths
- Line identification on multi-circuit structures
- Replacement of helicopter or climber-based marker installation programs
